Consumer-Purchaser Disclosure Project Offers Advice for Federal Physician Compare Website
The Affordable Care Act requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to expand its Physician Compare website to include quality and patient experience data about individual physicians. In a new issue brief, the Consumer-Purchaser Disclosure Project (CPDP) calls on CMS to make Physician Compare a consumer-friendly, easy-to-navigate site with meaningful performance measures that encourages quality improvement and enables patients to make educated choices based on individual needs.
Supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, CPDP is a coalition of leading national and local consumer organizations, employers, and labor organizations dedicated to improving the quality and affordability of health care for consumers and purchasers.
