Save the Date: IOM Geographic Adjustment Webinars on Medicare Payment Simulations, Telemedicine, and Workforce
The IOM will be sponsoring three free webinars in October to discuss the recent report and some of its key recommendations.
- On October 10th, from 3 to 4:30 pm Eastern, two members of the committee, Dr. Tom Ricketts from University of North Carolina and Dr. Joanne Pohl of the University of Michigan, will be presenting the committee's recommendations about the health care workforce. Barbara Safriet, a Visiting Professor of Law at Lewis and Clark Law School, will discuss the recommendations in light of her work on scope of practice.
- On October 17th, from 12 noon to 1 pm Eastern, three members of the Committee, Stuart Guterman of the Commonwealth Fund, Bruce Steinwald of Washington, DC and Dr. Stephen Zuckerman of the Urban Institute will be discussing the committee's findings from its payment simulations. Dr. Kathleen Dalton, who led the RTI team that conducted the simulations, will discuss some of the technical aspects of the simulations.
- On another date to be determined in early October, committee member Dr. Cathryn Nation of the University of California will present the committee's recommendation about telemedicine coverage and additional speakers will discuss their experiences implementing telemedicine projects.
